What’s the News?
Good news from Canadian carrier WestJet Airlines last week as they announced year round service to London. Last Fall WestJet announced service to London from May to October, but apparently sales must be going well which prompted this announcement.
What’s the Impact?
This is great for Canadian consumers as another competitor is in the market for winter trans-atlantic flights. This should put downward pressure on the market for more affordable flights year round. Normally, a flight from St. John’s to London would cost between $900-$1100 in Winter, but fares are now selling for $620 round trip in December 2016.
