Note: I am not affiliated with American Express and am not compensated in any way, shape, or form for this post. I own the card advertised, and simply think it is a good deal.
A couple of months back we advertised a card that would give you enough points for a round trip flight anywhere in North America for $120. Unfortunately, that deal has been downgraded and you could only earn a Short Haul round trip flight using that card offer. So, we thought we would pass along the best deal on the market today – the American Express Gold Rewards Card.
Why Do We Like This Card?
This is my newest card and has amazing perks! The first year annual fee is waived, and it comes with a sign-up bonus of 25,000 points which can be transferred 1:1 to Aeroplan (that’s enough points for a round trip flight anywhere in North America). If you wanted to cancel the card once you get the points, you would have earned a free round trip flight! Before you cancel, we always recommend that you check out this article from The Points Guy.
Aside from the sign-up bonus, you earn 2 points for every dollar spent on Gas, Travel, and Groceries and 1 point per dollar spent for everything else. You are also eligible for hotel room upgrades, rental car upgrades, and a whole suite of travel insurance depending on how you book! If you book a flight direct through your Amex Reward points, there are no blackout dates – which is normally the most frustrating part about booking using points!
You can sign up for the card here!
Let us know, do you know of any other Canadian Credit Cards that waive the first year annual fee but offer this many points?
