Well, it was only a matter of time! The Canadian market has finally been tapped into by discount trans-atlantic carriers! Toronto and Montreal to several European Destinations are going for less than $150 one way.
WestJet – the budget, family airline had began offering additional capacity to Ireland and the UK for affordable prices. But now WOW Air are taking those in Toronto and Montreal all over Europe.
This move should put some additional pressure on Air Canada, who recently launched Rouge – the low cost alternative to their regular service. Rouge prices to the UK have been under $300 one way, but certainly haven’t been able to touch WOW.
What you need to know about WOW:
1. They are very much a discount airline, no frills.
2. You must pay for everything – checked bags included.
3. They are based out of Iceland, and you can also book a one way there for just $99
